Growing up in Vietnam, I was immersed in a world where natural craftsmanship was part of daily life. I watched as simple materials were transformed into beautiful, useful items by skilled hands that held generations of knowledge. After making America our home for over a decade and becoming parents, we wanted to create this same connection to nature and tradition for our children.
Our journey began with two little ones we lovingly nicknamed Mi and Mon, inspired by my husband and I cherished Japanese anime characters from our childhood- Doraemon and Doremi - smart, caring robot cat siblings who bring magic into everyday life. Watching them grow up, we discovered the magic of blending cultures through their eyes as they embraced their American life while staying curious about their Vietnamese heritage.
Just as Mi and Mon brought new meaning to our understanding of home, Mimonhouse was born from a desire to share this harmonious blend of heritage and modern living with other families. We began with loofahs and woven baskets - items that carry the soul of Vietnamese craftsmanship while meeting the needs of contemporary life.
Our family's decision to move back to Vietnam wasn't just a homecoming - it was an adventure inspired by our desire to deepen these connections. Living here allows us to work directly with skilled artisans who have spent generations perfecting their craft. Every Mimonhouse piece is created without chemicals or synthetic materials, making them safe for children and kind to our planet.
Behind each Mimonhouse product lies a story of heritage, family bonds, and conscious choices for a better future. Named after our children's cherished nicknames, we believe in bringing the same sense of wonder and connection they experience to every home - through items that are both beautiful and mindfully made.
